June 2008
Michael Williams and his youth group from the Northside Church of Christ in
Temple hold the record for return trips to Cross Roads. They've been
coming for about seven (7) years straight, so, they remember when the
Dining Hall was an open air pavilion and all we had to cook on was a little
BBQ pit and a plug in griddle!
A few weeks ago Michael e-mailed me and asked if his youth could come out just for a workday. I said OF COURSE!!!! They arrived about 9am last Monday, June 9th, and proceeded to tear down the rickety old platform on the Obstacle Course, trimmed tree limbs and brush, weed eated around the three new low element team building stations, installed a "jump off platform" for the Nitro Crossing, repaired the Over n' Unders, the Blind Man's Maze, assembled new candle lanterns, cleaned and put new wicks in the Oil Lanterns and more!!!! They were an incredible blessing in helping us prepare for the Fall !!!! The camp has never looked better.... SO, THANK YOU NORTHSIDE!!!!!!!
